You can browse and play many adventures without an account. Create a free account to save your progress, track completed stories, and access age-appropriate content.

1. Visit /browse to see all published adventures
2. Click an adventure title to view its description, age rating, and genre tags
3. Press PLAY to start — your browser saves progress automatically in a save slot

Each adventure is a branching story. At the end of each scene you'll see a set of choices — click one to continue. Your path through the story is yours alone; different choices lead to different scenes and endings.

Navigation: use your mouse or keyboard (Tab to move between choices, Enter to select). The skip-navigation link at the top of the page jumps directly to the story content.

Images: some adventures include pixel-art scene illustrations. If an image fails to load, the story text is always complete on its own.

Your progress is automatically saved to a save slot each time you make a choice. You can have multiple save slots per adventure — useful if you want to explore different branches.

Manage your saves from your Profile page. You can rename, resume, or delete individual saves at any time.

Save slots are tied to your account. Logging out and back in on any device restores all your saves.

Adventures are rated using a five-tier system modelled on ESRB ratings:

• E — Everyone: suitable for all ages
• E10+ — Everyone 10+: mild fantasy peril, no strong content
• T — Teen: moderate violence, mild horror, mild language
• M — Mature: intense violence, strong language, mild sexual content — requires age verification (18+)
• AO — Adults Only: explicit content — requires age verification (18+)

M and AO content is hidden by default. To unlock it, verify your age in your Profile settings.

Retro Adventure Forge includes several accessibility options, available in Profile → Accessibility Settings:

• Disable retro styling: removes CRT effects, pixel fonts, and neon glows — switches to clean system fonts and neutral colours
• Larger text: increases body and prose font size by ~20%
• Dyslexia-friendly font: switches text to Verdana with increased letter and word spacing
• Reduce motion: disables all animations and transitions

The platform also automatically respects your OS-level accessibility settings (forced colours, reduced motion, high contrast) without requiring you to save preferences.

All interactive elements have ARIA labels. Use Tab to navigate and Enter/Space to activate controls.

If you encounter content that appears to violate our Terms of Service — including content that seems misrated, harmful, or illegal — use the flag button on the adventure page. Flags are reviewed by our moderation team.

You can delete your account at any time from your Profile page. Deleting your account removes your personal data, save slots, and any content you've authored. See our Privacy Policy for full details on how we handle your data.
